This is the official first post.

So what is this blog about, and why would anyone bother with it?

The first bit is easy. I’ve semi-recently picked up playing Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XI (FFXI) MMORPG again.  Abandoning my first character, a Tarutaru White Mage, I’ve re-rerolled as a Mithra and seem to have settled into the role of Paladin.

When I initially re-started, I decided to level up what I call the utility jobs first; those being Warrior (level 31 at the time of this post), and Thief (level 25) while I decided what I wanted to play.  I tend to gravitate to mage style jobs; enjoying the back-line technical aspects of such positions, while almost completely shunning melee jobs.

“Finding a Path” not only refers to the initial goal of settling into a in-game profession, but also finding my way through a play style I usually don’t do, and this blog serves as a way for me to document that process.

As to why anyone would bother making a blog about a MMORPG video game — I just want a space to pontificate, and have a passive method to communicate with my linkshell mates.
